  4.     DIED. Jacques Correze, 79, World War II Nazi collaborator and
  5. chairman of Cosmair, the American marketing arm of L'Oreal, the
  6. French beauty-products giant; in Paris. Correze died hours after
  7. announcing his resignation as Cosmair's chairman amid renewed
  8. controversy over his wartime pro-Nazi activities. After the war
  9. he served five years in prison in France for storing arms,
  10. building explosives and fomenting attacks on the French
  11. government. Two weeks ago, after Jewish organizations provided
  12. documents implicating Correze in raids on the homes and
  13. businesses of Jews in France in the 1940s, the U.S. Justice
  14. Department launched an investigation to determine whether he
  15. should be barred from entering the U.S. because of his former
  16. Nazi ties.
